The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Party

Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.

Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of the new season are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will split off from the main group to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.

Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might look mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing started the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The antagonist then settled his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Moreover, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:

  • The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, wants vengeance.
  • The adventurer knows Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile location.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the party reach locations they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and The cleric defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • The target is marked for death by House Halovar.

This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in search of Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Explorers and Schemers groups.

Viewers can look forward to learning which players will be assigned to which table in the season’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
