Netflix Chooses Perfect Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3
The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t unfold until season 3, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
The platform declared this week that the talented performer has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bentham. The role can use their power to transform into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that figure reimagined as non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action show, as in the original manga and anime.
Escola is joined by a number of recently announced actors tasked with bringing the group to life, including leader Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and a familiar face, who is also part of the ensemble as the ruler of Alabasta.
Though the role is a key figure of Baroque Works, the character won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Given season 2 set to cover the Little Garden segment, this represents a notable change in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal more adjustments to the story’s structure.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the part. Along with their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.
Netflix's live-action One Piece series is set to return for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
