A devastating blast at a security post in Indian-administered Kashmir has resulted in the loss of nine persons and injuries to thirty-two more, according to police declarations.
The event happened when a stockpile of confiscated explosives inadvertently exploded during handling procedures.

The blast occurred on Friday evening at the Nowgam law enforcement facility, where explosive materials seized from the Faridabad area in the northern province of Haryana state were being stored temporarily.
Local police chief stated that the blast materials were scheduled for forensic examination when a "deeply regrettable" mishap during processing caused their blast at approximately 23:20 in the evening.

Police authorities asserted that this was an "unintentional explosion" and not a militant action. "Different conjectures regarding the reason of this event is unwarranted," emphasized the police chief during a press briefing.
The security post endured significant harm from the detonation, with neighboring structures also being affected by the powerful blast.
Consequences and Casualties
Multiple vehicles were "covered in blaze and transformed into ashen remains, with fragments distributed across the area," according to authority statements.
"The force of the blast was so extreme that some body parts were found in close-by residences, approximately 100-200 metres away the law enforcement facility," reported an authority informant.
The bulk of the casualties were law enforcement personnel, along with scientific examination staff, two investigative imaging experts, and a tailor who was with the team.

The territory's Lieutenant Governor conveyed condolences and announced that an probe had been ordered into the devastating event.
